RAPAPORT... American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) announced that Wendi M. Mayerson is rejoining the team after departing in 2009 to pursue other opportunities. During that time, Mayerson held several positions, including directorship of the New York office for Patrizzi & Co., a high-end watch and clock auction house where she identified  the gemstones on antique watches and Cartier mystery clocks. She also worked as a stone buyer for both the jewelry designer Judith Ripka and the online retailer Gemvara.

Mayerson will be working closely with AGL's executive team to further develop and expand the laboratory’s scope of gemological services and to reduce turn-around time for items submitted to the lab for testing.

“Wendi is an outstanding gemologist and we have worked closely together in the past,” said, Christopher P. Smith, the president of AGL. “She will help continue to improve on the quality service and results that our clients have come to expect from AGL.”

Mayerson said, “I am absolutely thrilled to back at AGL doing what I love the most.  I am delighted to get the chance to work with such an exceptionally talented group of people and teaming up with Chris and company again is an opportunity I just could not pass up.”
