Baume & Mercier Unveils the Promesse Line of Watches

RAPAPORT... Baume & Mercier unveiled the Promesse line of women's watches, titled after the word "promise" in French and meant to inspire women to celebrate a special moment with a timepiece. Watches from the Promesse collection start at $1,900 and are available with and without diamonds. The Promesse features an oval bezel that is nestled inside a soft, round case. Sleek curves are intended to present the visual interpretation of rippling water, which is further enhanced by a mother-of-pearl bezel. The 14-piece collection includes both 30mm and 34mm sizes in both steel and two-tone 18-karat red gold.
The brand also launched a global contest to draw attention to the new collection with "Make a Promise," a search for the most beautiful promise. As some promises are sealed in public spaces around the world with small padlocks, Baume & Mercier anticipates that contestants will share their own personal "padlock promise" as a means to enter. The contest will close on November 10, 2014 and a winner will be awarded a Promesse .
"We're thrilled to be unveiling such a coveted collection and what better way to celebrate it than with a worldwide contest. I'm truly looking forward to reading the submissions, for there are so many beautiful stories to be told and wishes to share," said Rudy Chavez, the president of Baume & Mercier North America.
The collection also includes both quartz and automatic models on a bracelet or leather strap.
