Press Release: Yesterday, Swiss watchmaker Tissot hosted a basketball shooting competition and fan meet-and-greet with NBA star and Tissot brand ambassador, Tony Parker, in New York City. Parker joined the 161-year old watch brand in celebrating the opening of its second watch boutique in the U.S. at 45 Wall Street, a TF Cornerstone property.

Over 200 fans visited the boutique to meet Parker and view Tissot’s full assortment of varied product lines and 45 people participated in the basketball competition. The basketball contest participants were given one minute to make three shots in sequential order: lay-up, free throw and three-pointer. The winner, Zipporah Morris, was the fastest to complete the challenge and was awarded tickets to an upcoming Knicks game and a Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar Tony Parker Limited Edition 2014 Watch.    tissot, tony parker

“Tissot shares many core qualities with Tony Parker and the sport of basketball, most especially performance, precision and innovation,” said François Thiébaud, Tissot's president. “We are proud to offer this unique experience to our customers in New York City as we celebrate the opening of a beautiful new boutique on Wall Street, which is sure to further establish the brand’s leadership and authority in watchmaking.”

The new boutique features a historical exhibition presenting vintage Tissot timepieces and a video monitor that brings to life the story of Tissot’s 161-year history and how the brand continues to revolutionize the craft of watchmaking. A “Watchmakers Corner” is a featured element that offers on-premise sizing and repairs by a Swatch Group watch specialist.

Parker said, “Tissot has been a valued partner since I first signed with the brand in 2010 and I am proud to see them further expand in the U.S. with the new Wall Street boutique. I was happy to see so many fans come out for the Tissot basketball shooting competition and think it was a great event to highlight Tissot’s growing presence in the global basketball community.”

The store is located at 45 Wall Street in Manhattan. More information on Tissot watches can be found at http://us.tissotshop.com/.
