Lerala Workplace Accident Results in Employee Death

RAPAPORT... A care and maintenance employee died in a workplace accident at Botswana's Lerala diamond mine, Kimberley Diamonds reported on Thursday.
The Australia-based mining company notified the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that all activities at Lerala have ceased, pending a full review of operating, health and safety procedures in place at the mine.
Kimberley had planned to restart commercial production at Lerala by the end of this year before the life of mine at its flagship Ellendale mine in Australia was due to end.
