RAPAPORT... Five companies that specialize in  wearable technology will comprise the "Smart Jewels" component of the JA New York summer show to be held July 26 to 28 at the Javits Center in Manhattan.  Beacon & Lively, iFit, Looksee Labs, Oura and Viawear will offer attending retailers  products that combine health and wellness-based technology, with wearable adornments.

“We are very excited to showcase these cutting-edge companies at our upcoming summer show,” said Drew Lawsky, JA New York's group show director. “The popularity of these types of products among consumers is on the rise and we’re excited to be among the first to facilitate relationships between our loyal retailers and these five ground-breaking additions to our exhibitor community.”

Beacon & Lively markets a piece of jewelry that is designed to keep the wearer connected and notify her or him of an alert with ambient lighting and a gentle vibration. Launching at JA New York, iFit debuts the iFit Duo, which is a reversible, double-sided activity watch that reveals a watch on one side and an LCD screen displaying real time activity stats and fitness data on the other.  Looksee Labs offers  smart jewelry that delivers real-time custom notifications and  displays pattern slideshows and photos. Oura sells a wellness ring that measures how the wearer’s body responds to sleep, rest and activity, while delivering  personalized guidance on improving in these areas. Viawear is introducing “Tyia,” a bracelet that filters mobile notifications and tracks activity.
