RAPAPORT... The Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) published the summer 2015 issue of The GOOD Report, the organization’s online newsletter that highlights positive work being conducted across the diamond and jewelry industries. The latest issue, which can be found at www.diamondempowerment.org, features student scholar speakers at the organization’s recent fundraising gala, Diamonds in the Sky, during the Las Vegas jewelry shows.
Additionally, The GOOD Report discusses a new funding partnership with Diamond Development Initiative’s mobile school program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the launch of the Diamonds Do Good Initiative website and the Digital Toolkit, which assists retailers in communicating the industry’s good work to consumers. The newsletter also highlights the Diamonds Do Good Design Competition, a co-venture with the COUTURE show, that was designed to identify the next iconic charity bracelet which will be sold in support of the organization. The D.E.F. was co-founded by Russell Simmons, De Beers and other leaders in the diamond industry in 2007 to empower youth from diamond-producing countries and communities. Since its founding, the D.E.F has positively impacted more than 2,000 students.
