RAPAPORT... Severalmaz, the mining unit of Alrosa, said that some of the 150,000 carats of diamonds it gave to Gokhran for sorting were swapped with cheaper, inferior quality diamonds, Russian daily Kommersant reported, citing unidentified people familiar with the situation. The missing lot reportedly includes four uncut large diamonds.

According to the report, the Russian Finance Ministry, together with Severalmaz and Gokhran – Russia’s State Precious Metals and Gems Repository -- have set up a special panel to investigate the matter.
