RAPAPORT... Zalemark Holding Company chief operating officer Raymond Ruiz is to replace Steven Zale as chief executive officer following the veteran designer’s seven-month stint as temporary head.

Zale, who has designed jewelry for more than 30 years, will remain at the company as honorary chairman emeritus, a non-officer, non-director position. He will now concentrate on designing, manufacturing and collaborating with other designers, he said in a statement October 13.

The company also announced several other appointments: Ernest Martell has been promoted to COO; Caren Currier to secretary and treasurer; Jeff Ringer to executive vice president for marketing; and Hie Su Moon to vice president for new business and celebrity development.

Zalemark is also “courting several industry icons” to be its president, with Ruiz taking on the role in an interim capacity in the meantime.

Zale said the Sherman Oaks, California company’s management had “persevered with tremendous success and talent against all challenges.” He took over the position temporarily in March to oversee financing arrangements that would help the company roll out its global brands, the statement said.

During Zale’s period as CEO, the firm ended merger discussions with New Jersey-based Bergio International following a unanimous agreement against the deal by Zalemark’s board, according to a statement posted on its website June 3.

Zalemark’s brands include stevenzale.com, LuxTV Inc. (DBA Luxury Brands Group), Demeter®, Divas Choice™ and Compralux Hispanic Shopping Network™.
