De Beers Auction Sales to Conduct Viewings of Lots at SNZ

RAPAPORT... De Beers auction sales business will start viewings of auction lots at Mumbai’s Special Notified Zone (SNZ) next month ahead of its December 2015 auction events, according to a company announcement.
Under the current schedule, the full range of products to be offered for sale at the December auction will be available for inspection at the SNZ in the Bharat Diamond Bourse from November 27.
Auction sales goods include rough diamonds that meet the criteria for the company’s Forevermark program. According to the company, demand levels for rough bought at auction is a consideration used by De Beers Global Sightholder Sales in its offer allocation process.
“The opening of the SNZ in Mumbai is a positive development for the Indian industry,” said Neil Ventura, executive vice president of Auction Sales. “Offering these viewings at the SNZ creates a platform for serving existing and new customers with greater convenience in their local market enabling them to inspect the full spectrum of rough diamonds that we sell.”
