RAPAPORT... Luk Fook Holdings (International) Ltd opened its largest retail store outside mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, choosing a new location in Greater Toronto.

The store at Markville Shopping Centre in Markham, on the edge of the Canadian city, is the company’s second in the country, according to a statement December 17. Its other shop is near Vancouver, according to a list of stores on the company’s website.

Luk Fook will “provide Toronto and global customers with high-quality jewelry products and professional services to further establish our reputation in the international market,” chairman and chief executive officer Wong Wai Sheung said in the statement.

As of September 30, the Hong Kong retailer had five self-operated stores outside its home country, including one in Singapore, two in the U.S., one in Canada, one in Australia and a licensed shop in Korea, the company said in its interim results statement November 26.
