U.S. Jewelry, Watch Sales Rise for Ninth Month in a Row

RAPAPORT... U.S. jewelry and watch sales from all retail outlets increased 6.3 percent year on year to an estimated $4.65 billion in January, with both categories enjoying nine successive months of growth.

The sector’s total for previous months was revised, meaning total jewelry and watch sales in 2015 as a whole increased 1.2 percent to $75.61 billion, according to provisional figures from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Jewelry sales in January increased 6.3 percent year on year to $4.11 billion, according to Rapaport News estimates. Watch sales rose 6.4 percent to an estimated $544 million.
