RAPAPORT... De Beers appointed Nigel Simson (pictured, right) as senior vice-president of the miner’s product planning operation at Global Sightholder Sales. The new unit will ensure products and services are more tailored to rough diamond buyers’ needs.

Bernard Bradley (left) will take over Simson’s current role as senior VP of Global Sightholder Sales, which sells about 90 percent of De Beers rough diamonds by value at 10 sights a year. Bradley was most recently VP of global commercial operations and VP of global sales at Volvo Car Group, according to his profile on LinkedIn.

Simson and Bradley will both be based in Gaborone, Botswana, and will work closely with Paul Rowley, executive vice-president of Global Sightholder Sales.
