RAPAPORT... Garrard has opened its first boutique in
Shanghai, the London-based luxury jeweler announced last week.
To celebrate the launch, Garrard — which
has been in business for nearly three centuries and served as Great Britain’s crown
jeweler for over 160 years — has unveiled a number of diamond jewelry pieces
that will be exclusive to Shanghai. Among them are the Emerald Ivy suite — an
emerald-and-diamond set consisting of earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace that
can be worn in three different ways — and the Eternal Fringe suite, a necklace
and earrings containing more than 40 carats of diamonds.
“We are confident that our iconic
collections and bespoke designs, coupled with our longstanding British heritage,
will find a happy home in one of the most dynamic and exciting cities in the
world,” said Garrard CEO Joanne Milner.
The new boutique in Shanghai’s Bund
district — the company’s 29th point of sale — will present new collections,
bridal jewelry, tiaras and rare stones. It will continue to carry out bespoke
orders for clients in collaboration with the London-based design team, the
jeweler said.
Garrard — which has been expanding
internationally in recent years to reach out to growing luxury markets — plans
to open two further flagship stores next year, a company spokesperson told
Rapaport News.
