Lucapa Diamond Company garnered $7.3 million at a sale of rough diamonds from its Lulo mine in Angola, achieving an average price of $1,770 per carat.

The sale of 4,126 carats brought total proceeds from Lulo this year to $31.6 million, at an average price of $1,668 per carat, the miner said last week.

The next sale of diamonds from the high-value deposit, taking place next month or in early 2018, will include two D-color, type IIa rough stones weighing 129.58 carats and 78.61 carats respectively. Lucapa recovered those diamonds earlier this month.
