RAPAPORT... De Beers Diamond Jewellers has launched a new retail location in Kowloon, Hong Kong, its fourth in the municipality.

“[The store] reinforces our existing network in greater China,” François Delage, CEO of De Beers’ retail operation, said Thursday. “It is important to us to continue to develop our brand presence in the region.”

The 1,000-square-foot store will carry a range of bridal diamond jewelry, including engagement rings and wedding bands, as well as high jewelry and iconic collections such as Talisman.

The new opening brings the chain’s global store count to 34. The jeweler also has branches in the US, Canada, London, Paris, Moscow and the Middle East, with half its locations spread throughout Asia.

De Beers launched its retail chain in 2001 in partnership with LVMH. In 2017, the miner bought out the luxury jeweler’s 50% stake.
