RAPAPORT... Garrard has expanded its Chinese presence with a new boutique in Beijing, the London-based luxury jeweler said last week.

The 100-square-meter boutique — located in the Emperor Group Centre — will comprise three VIP rooms, and will focus on high jewelry and bespoke commissions, the jeweler said.

To celebrate the launch, Garrard — the former British crown jeweler — will showcase pieces with historical significance, including the 118.88-carat Garrard Jubilee Sapphire, as well as the White Rose necklace.

“It’s been a pleasure creating jewels for customers in China since we opened our Shanghai flagship last year,” said Sara Prentice, Garrard’s creative director. “Now with a presence in Beijing we’re in an even better position to explore how our heritage and craftsmanship can come to life for the sophisticated women who want to wear our designs.”
