RAPAPORT... The American Gem Society (AGS) will honor three industry leaders at its Circle of Distinction dinner, it said last week.

Alan Zimmer, CEO of Reeds Jewelers, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Zimmer’s father opened Reeds in 1946, with the business now covering more than 50 store locations across the US.

Caryl Capeci, president of Chow Tai Fook North America, and Elliot Tannenbaum, senior principal of Leo Schachter Diamond Group, will both receive the AGS Triple Zero award.

“This year’s honorees are leaders who have taken risks, executed innovative strategies and best practices throughout their career, as well as given their time and talent for the betterment of our industry,” said Katherine Bodoh, CEO of AGS and AGS Laboratories.

The dinner will take place on July 30 at the Plaza hotel in New York.
