RAPAPORT... Luxury retail giant Kering restructured its jewelry and watch division and appointed Sowind Group's CEO, Michele Sofisti, to the role of CEO of Gucci watches and jewelry beginning October 1. Kering will appoint a new CEO for Sowind Group in the coming months.
In three years as the CEO of Sowind Group, Sofisti modernized the production capacities of Sowind Group and reorganized the product offer of both Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard brands.
An expert of the haute horlogerie industry, Sofisti joined Gucci watches as strategic advisor in 2009 and he was promoted to CEO in 2010. In 2011, he was appointed the CEO of Sowind Group.
Kering operates the luxury and lifestyle brands of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Christopher Kane, McQ, Stella McCartney, Tomas Maier, Sergio Rossi, Boucheron, Dodo, Girard-Perregaux, JeanRichard, Pomellato, Qeelin, Puma, Volcom, Cobra, Electric and Tretorn.
