RAPAPORT... The American Gem Society (AGS) announced speakers for the 2011 Conclave, which will be held in San Francisco from April 27 to 30 at the Westin St. Francis hotel.

Headlining the lineup, Jim Abbott, a star athlete who was born without his right hand, will inspire attendees with his speech titled “ADAPT: Overcoming Adversity,” which centers upon  how best one can use different strategies to overcome obstacles. Explorer and National Geographic writer, Dan Buettner, will give the keynote address on how one can make the most of their life.

“AGS members are always looking at new opportunities and tools that help them stay at the top of their game,” said Ruth Batson, executive director of AGS. “Not only will these keynote speakers offer advice that members can apply to their business lives, but their own lives.

"We want them to not only grow as business leaders, but to walk away from this Conclave feeling enriched and energized, and apply what they’ve learned in every aspect of their working, family and social relationships. It’s all about building bridges to our future, and with the help of our peers," Baston said.
