(Rapaport...May 11, 2006) Tzoffey's Auction House, an Israeli-owned auctioneer, will be holding an exclusive auction of diamonds, precious gems and jewelry as part of the 32nd World Diamond Congress in June 2006. Tzoffey's auction is estimated in value of $50 million with at least 450 lots, but organizers expect the number to increase before the event.
As of press time, the sale includes rare diamonds, precious gems, and a large variety of unique jewelry, ranging the full spectrum of cut, size, color and quality, fancy cuts and natural fancy color diamonds.
One highlight of the sale is a straight vivid orange, 5-carat, pear-shaped diamond (estimated value $2.5 million-$3 million.) The sale also features an emerald cut diamond, 13.16 carats (D, VVS2,) and a sapphire and diamond brooch, which is designed as a swallow and set with a briolette sapphire (43.48 carats) and diamonds weighing 35.07 carats mounted in platinum.

Additional offers include: One layout of 10 pear-shape D-flawless diamonds (not priced;) One brooch set in rare blue, pink and white diamonds (estimated value $5 to $7 million.)
"Spend two days in Israel and you will reap the profit all year long," said Avner Sofiov, president and principal auctioneer of Tzoffey's. "I am certain that those who attend the Israel auction will cover their expenses because there is something for everyone to purchase and profit from." The wide range of goods allows diamantaires to compare qualities and prices and leave the auction with priceless information, according to Sofiov.
The first of two auction sections will be for rare items, many of which have never before been offered to the public. The second section is for goods belonging to young diamantaires and goods confiscated by major international banks as collateral. These goods will be sold at a silent auction.
Admission to the auction will be open only to professionals of the trade.
Viewing will take place on June 26, 2006, from 10:00 to 22:00; June 27 from 10:00 to 22:00; and June 28 from 10:00 to 15:00. The auction itself is due to take place at the Tel Aviv Hilton Hotel in the King Solomon Hall on June 28 at 18:00.
