RAPAPORT... The Gemesis Corporation signed a sales agreement with JewelNet/K&G Creations and it’s subsidiary - the Renaissance Diamond Corp. - to supply cultured diamonds for the Renaissance line of jewelry.

“We see this as another stepping stone in the building of the category,” said Stephen Lux, CEO and president of Gemesis. “We are pleased to be associated with such an experienced company as the Renaissance Corp and their proven track record of bringing non-traditional products to a very traditional market”

Under the agreement, Gemesis sells rough diamonds to Renaissance for their proprietary and patented Renaissance Cut™ to differentiate itself from other Gemesis Select Customers. The first Renaissance collection will debut during the Vegas Show (June 1-5, 2007.)

The Renaissance Cut uses a combination of the Antique Cushion and Asscher Cuts. The initial Renaissance 18-karat gold collection will be marketed to upscale independent retailers and regional chains.

“The Renaissance Collection gives consumers the opportunity to own beautiful, high-quality diamonds that traditionally only few could possess,” said Neil Koppel, president and CEO of Renaissance Diamond Corp.

“Drawing from the expertise and success that JewelNet and K&G Creations have had in pioneering and establishing consumer demand for 'created jewelry' featuring Moissanite, we feel that the Renaissance Cut™ featuring Gemesis Cultured Diamonds™ has the potential for sales to reach into the hundreds of millions of dollars.”
