June 19, 2007, Antwerp – Martin Rapaport will explain how a diamond futures contract is being developed in his keynote “State of the Diamond Industry” address in Antwerp, Belgium on Wednesday, June 27.
The presentation will emphasize how diamond stakeholders, especially small to medium size firms, will benefit from the proposal. Price transparency, market liquidity, risk management, and speculation will be discussed.
The presentation will include: the impact of African beneficiation on diamond distribution, globalization of diamond demand, currency volatility, synthetic-treated diamonds and a basic forecast of diamond prices.
