RAPAPORT... Online diamond retailer JamesAllen.com reached a new milestone with the sale of a $412,000 diamond ring, the highest ticket price for a single item on the website to date.

"This is a very significant sale as it represents one of the most expensive diamond rings ever to be sold via the Internet," the company stated. The platinum set ring included a 10.50 carat square emerald cut, which was flanked on both sides with a single emerald cut.

"The client made the purchase after liaising numerous times with JamesAllen.com sales manager, Josh Cales. It was a rare diamond exquisitely cut," the company stated.

Year to date, JamesAllen.com reported its sales growth has already topped 55 percent.

Click to collapse comment 1. I bit drastic don't you think?
Robert, Do you really think our tiny little diamond industry will have any affect on the whole real estate market? Nobody will miss us and how do you plan on making money if everyone is selling on-line? What's next? selling for 1% margins, thats where we are headed.

Click to collapse comment 2. I would buy an expensive diamond from a website. Why not /
It's all about the price when you sell a certified diamond or an IPhone. The time of brick & Mortar is OVER! Landlords lower your rent or drown in vacant space. No sales Tax and low overhead the perfect condition to work on skinny profit. You will see renta lspace opening up in a big way soon. Landlords are pigs now its time to lower rent or go out of business. Sorry.
