RAPAPORT... The Kimberley Process will hold a plenary meeting November 5-8, 2007, in Brussels. More than 70 participating countries are expected to attend as well as representatives from candidate countries, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector.

The aim of the plenary meeting is to discuss Kimberley implementation issues, including monitoring, transparency and the Kimberley 'reform agenda,' while participants will also discuss solutions to 'crisis situations' that might increase the risk of conflict diamonds' mixing in with legitimate goods.

The Kimberley Process chairmanship rotates annually, and the Erupoean Union will hand-off leadership to O.P. Arya of India on November 8 for the year 2008.
