RAPAPORT... Loose diamond wholesaler A&W Diamonds of Manhattan announced a winner of its Valentine's Day poem contest. The dealer also sells direct to the public via its website.
The contest was run through www.AWDiamonds.com and ended February 11, 2008.
A&W's poem contest required participants to use the phrase "Heart Diamonds" or "Heart Diamond" at least once in their creation. The winner took away a loose diamond in the shape of a heart.
Poem creator Temple Con was selected by the firm for submitting the most romantic piece.
The Winning Poem:
Precious Because I never dreamt I could love so long,
And your love is too precious to lose,
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
Men stand alone, I thought, but I was wrong.
I never knew that love is what we choose,
And I never dreamt I could love so long.
Who am I without my beloved one,
Subtle and serene as the sky's deep blues?
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
Leave me kisses, tears to make me strong,
For deep within my heart there is a bruise.
I never dreamt I could love so long
Or ever have the chance to sing this song,
The one you taught me, tender muse.
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on,
Make me righteous, make me a righteous man.
Every song I sing is nothing without you,
Because I never dreamt I could love so long.
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
