RAPAPORT...
Mumbai, India, August 4, 2008: The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) announced it will have an impressive Thai Pavilion at the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) decorated in traditional Thai style and housing 35 booths.
Twenty-eight Thai companies will be exhibiting goods ranging from loose colored gemstones in qualities and quantities that can only be found in Thailand to a rich choice of diamond and colored gemstone jewelry and high-end designer jewelry. (Click here for a comprehensive list of the participating Thai firms.) The IIJS takes place August 7-11 at the NSE Complex, Goregaon, Mumbai, India.
Visitors to the Thai pavilion will be able to enjoy a variety of attractions and promotional activities. To alleviate "fair fatigue," visitors can enjoy a rest at the Thai Foot Massage Center, where Thai massage specialists will try and add a few more miles on the feet of tired show attendees.
There will also be a spectacular prize draw at the Thai pavilion on each of the five days of the show, with two lucky visitors every day winning either a Mumbai-Bangkok-Mumbai roundtrip and a two-day stay at a Bangkok hotel, or a gemological course in colored gemstone identification courtesy of the Gem and Jewellery Institute of Thailand (GIT), Thailand's prime gemology research and teaching institution. In addition, the Thai Pavilion will raffle 50 lunch coupons each day of the show.
Mr. Boonyong Assarasakorn, chairman of the TGJTA's Indian Region Working Committee, said the organization and its members view the IIJS as one of the most important shows on the colored gemstone and jewelry calendar. "Apart from the fact that our industries have long, historical mutually beneficial ties, we view the local Indian jewelry market as being of tremendous importance. The Indian jewelry consumer market is diverse, multi-cultural and continuously growing. We want to market our products here and we expect to see Thai gems and jewelry sales grow significantly in India. Our pavilion is a showcase where Indian - and other - retailers can find all they wish for."
