RAPAPORT... Yael Designs will premiere its Mosaic Collection at the Prime Jewelry Group show in Boston on August 23, 2009. The collection features black and white diamonds set in white gold, and includes 48 pendants, rings and earrings. The designs were inspired by geometric and natural patterns found in mosques and carpets of the Middle East, according to designer Yehouda Saketkhou. Each jewelry piece contains between 1.5 and 3.5 carats of diamonds and is priced from $5,000 to $15,000.

"At first glance, the abstract black and white patterns seem simple, but when you look closer you see a complicated mosaic of stones," said Saketkhou. "The black and white diamond pendants and earrings would look gorgeous paired with a little black dress or a cocktail gown. The chunky diamond rings would also help spice up a jeans-and-blouse look." Yael Designs was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in San Francisco.
