RAPAPORT... HRD Antwerp announced it was certifying the new "Antwerp Twins" diamond cut, which HRD and WTOCD, an Antwerp-based diamond research center, created new standards for. Before these standards were established, the cut could only be mentioned as a comment on the certificate, but now, a dedicated certificate will be provided for this exclusive cut.

The Antwerp Twins diamond cut derives its name from the two faceted domes on the crown and pavilion side marked by a fully faceted dome-shaped crown with either no table or only a tiny culet-style facet in the center of the crown. Antwerp Twins was introduced by 3D Diamonds and will be launched at the Hong Kong Show. Antwerp Twins diamond cut

HRD's Georges Brys said,  “We are very happy we can partner with an innovative company that is willing to invest in new products in these challenging times. HRD Antwerp and WTOCD made their scientific know how available to design the new certification standard.”

Eva Van Looveren, chief executive of 3D Diamonds, adds that this cut was created while she was expecting twins.

"Twins catch more attention and the diamond had to do the same," she said. "This was the concept: A double sparkling, infinite binary living diamond. Precisely one day before I gave birth to my human twins, this revolutionary diamond cut was born with the logically corresponding name 'Antwerp Twins.'”
