The Art of Jewellery... The Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair kicked off its 46th show on September 7. The event was inaugurated by Porntiva Nakasai, the country's minister of commerce. This  biannual fair runs through September 11 at the Impact Challenger Exhibition Hall at Muang Thong Thani. The fair showcases the latest and most unique collections in a venue equipped with multimedia presentations, fashion shows, design awards and other special events.

The highlight of the five-day fair is "Jewelry Trends of 2011," the Ploi Thai Jewelry Award and product branding by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). They  are being encouraged to create and emphasize their own product brand names.

The Bangkok fair offers an opportunity to network with more than 1,200 exhibitors in 16 key product categories. The fair is expected to draw 35,000 international attendees.

“We’re pleased with the list of these buyers scheduled to come to Bangkok Gems show. These are both new and current authoritative buyers in each market who want to source gems and jewellery from Thailand,” said Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair's Somchai Phornchindarak.
