RAPAPORT... The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) warned the trade of a recent scam through which emeralds, rubies and sapphires were stolen and may soon emerge on the market for sale.
The gems, which are certified by Gem Research Swisslab or Gübelin Gem Lab, include 25 emeralds, six rubies, seven sapphires and one alexandrite mounted in a jewelry piece.
The certificates for the gemstones can be accessed from an FTP site link using the following username, ''icaguest,'' and password ''Guest2012". Members of the trade who come across the stones or have further information are encouraged to contact Bryan Pavlik at ICA via his email address: ica-at-paraiba.at.
