Botswana's Diamond Exports -42% in April

RAPAPORT... Botswana’s diamond exports slumped 42 percent year on year to $173.8 million in April 2012, according to figures released by the Bank of Botswana. During the first four months of the year, the country’s diamond exports declined by 30 percent to $1 billion.
The bank’s data is a representative sample of the country's full diamond trade and is sourced from the Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Leo Schachter Botswana, Teemane Manufacturing Co., and the Central Statistics Office.
