RAPAPORT... Montblanc celebrated the opening of its largest concept store, which includes four stories of retail space and is located in the heart of Sanlitun in Beijing, China. The jeweler presented its entire “Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco” for the grand opening event and transformed the space into a virtual Monaco. The brand launched the Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco as a tribute to the life and lasting sophistication of Grace Kelly. This line of Montblanc pens, watches, and jewelry traces her life from movie star to the glamorous Princess of Monaco. Montblanc's managing director of jewelry, Susie Otero, designed the collection with the desire for it to fit Princess Grace's style, "extremely elegant, perfect in a way, timeless, graceful, and understated, never vulgar, never too much, never not enough," she said. This new Montblanc concept store was designed in a way that offers its visitors an interactive journey through the company's history and collections. Each floor is dedicated to Montblanc's special offerings featuring timepieces, writing instruments, fine jewelry, leather goods, and limited editions. One display inside the Montblanc Sanlitun store gives its visitors the chance to explore the workings of a genuine Swiss watch via the “Virtual Timepiece” display. With a virtual reality feature, visitors may interact with the inner movement of a watch through a projection wheel that shows the detailed motion of the timepiece on surrounding screens.
