RAPAPORT... U.S. Antique Shows observed a 9 percent year-on-year increase in attendance on the opening day of its  Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show on October 25.

”The show floor had a palpable buzz every day of the event,” said Dan Darby, GLM's vice president and U.S. Antique Shows group director. “Many of our exhibitors reported that show sales far exceeded their expectations.”

The Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show hosted more than 100 dealers, presenting global brand jewels and watches from such companies as Cartier, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., David Webb, Harry Winston, Patek Philippe and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Exhibitor Lenore Dailey said, “The Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show has consistently been a good venue for me and this year’s show was no exception. As in the past, my customers represented many different cities and countries. I did business with English, Dutch, Belgian, Italian, and Australian dealers, plus many buyers from New York and California.”

Dailey added that her most requested pieces  were long period gold earrings, long Georgian and Victorian chains and gold bangles. She also sold unique items from the 18th century, including a diamond necklace with matching earrings, gold Iberian earrings and a foiled quartz with enamel pendant.
