RAPAPORT... Stellar Diamonds confirmed an initial sample grade of 170 carats per hundred tonnes (cpht) from its bulk sampling program at the Tongo dyke kimberlite project in Sierra Leone. The initial sample yielded 151 carats from 141 tonnes of kimberlite and the company anticipates additional results will be forthcoming about every four weeks and that the diamond-grade will increase as more diamonds are recovered through re-processing. Stellar confirmed that 86 percent of diamond recovery was of gem-quality and several stones were greater than 1 carat. The junior miner expects to recover a minimum of 1,000 carats to confirm full diamond-grade and value. Previously, samples established a grade of 120 cpht and a price of $248 per carat.
