RAPAPORT... Malak Jewelers The Diamond Specialists Since 1980 opened a new 5,000-square-foot showroom at The Arboretum Shopping Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The retailer relocated to this larger space from a more moderately-sized showroom, where it had been operating for almost two decades. The new location also provided Malak Jewelers with a larger workshop area for its in-house goldsmith and design team.
The display area is quadrupled in size from the previous location to allow for more inventory and the addition of brands, according to the company .
Asaad Malak, the company owner, said, “Count on me. My name is on the sign and because of that, I'll do whatever it takes. For the best service, we believe clients should look for the personalization that a family-owned and -operated jeweler can offer. Our goal is to make the diamond purchase experience stress free and enjoyable for clients, and we go out of our way to make clients happy."
Malak, who said he will sometimes stay until midnight finishing a custom piece and then personally deliver it to a client across town, added that today's consumers don't view shopping for diamonds as a mere transaction. "Clients are looking for a quality selection, outstanding service, care and respect. It’s about providing the entire multi-sensory experience — the jewelry, the knowledgeable sales team, the look and the ambiance. And the experience is largely about trust. Our philosophy is that creating a fabulous engagement ring begins with the highest-quality loose diamond," he said. In and around town, Malak Jewelers is a supporter of community events, such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure, and a member of the Charlotte, Matthews and Latin Chambers of Commerce. Malak opened his first showroom in 1980 in Westchester County, New York but then relocated his family to Charlotte about 17 years ago, where he opened his first retail showroom at The Arboretum. Malak Jewelers has also expanded to Tyson's Corner in northern Virginia.
