Jewelers for Children Announces Officers, Board of Directors

Press Release: Jewelers for Children, the jewelry industry's charity, is pleased to announce the results of the annual election for the board of directors.  At the regularly scheduled meeting of the board of directors on June 1, 2014 in Las Vegas, the annual elections for officers and directors was held. 

All current officers were elected to a second, two-year term.  They include Ruth Batson of American Gem Society and AGS Laboratories, as chairman; Mark Light of Sterling Inc., as vice president of charity programs; Dennis Ulrich of Richline Group, as vice president of fundraising; Jim De Mattei of ViewPoint Sales and Marketing as vice president of marketing and public relations; Debra Puzio of Star Luxe LLC as vice president of special programs; Pamela Mortensen of J.C.Penney Inc. as secretary; Ulrich Wohn of LVMH Watch and Jewelry as treasurer, and Peter Engel of Fred Meyer Jewelers as immediate past chair.  Terms begin on October 1.

“This board is one of the most committed I have ever had the pleasure of working with," said Batson.  "I'm very much looking forward to continuing a second term and welcoming the new directors."

In addition, seven new directors were elected to three-year terms: Julie Cosio of Assurant Solutions; Benny Hematian of BH Multi Com/Effy; Harvey Kanter of Blue Nile;  Diane Paccione of QVC; Ezriel Rapaport of Rapaport Group; Elliot Tannenbaum of Leo Schachter Diamonds, and Eric Zuckerman of Pac Team America.

In addition to the new directors, eight current directors were elected to additional three-year terms:  Jeffrey Cohen of Citizen Watch Co. of America; Ellen Fruchtman of Fruchtman Marketing; Susan Rothman of Hearts On Fire;  Joel Schechter of Honora;  Hank Siegel of Hamilton Jewelers;  Laura Stanley of Stanley Jewelers; John White of Fossil, and Stewart Wicht of Rolex Watch USA.

John Green of Lux Bond & Green concluded a six-year term on the board.
