RAPAPORT... Stellar Diamonds achieved $417,122 from the sale of 4,414 carats in Antwerp, the company reported. The sale included excellent-quality white stones, with a 5-carat rough diamond achieving an average price of $5,000 per carat.
The company added that it was pleased with the revenue generated from the sale, especially given that the market for rough diamonds remains very challenging at the moment.
Stellar withheld 1,617 carats from the sale as a result of low bids on those lots. The diamonds will be included in future sales. The company's next rough diamond sale is expected to take place in May 2015.
