MID Leads Israel’s Top Diamond Exporters List for 2015

RAPAPORT... MID House of Diamonds was ranked as the top diamond exporter from Israel in 2015, according to a list released by the diamond controller of the nation’s Ministry of Economy and Industry.

The company exported $191 million of gems net during the year, according to a statement by the controller February 1 showing the top ten outbound shippers of the precious stones who agreed to release figures.

Leo Schachter Diamonds, which led the table the previous year, slipped to fourth place with $150 million of net exports in 2015 – a 48-percent decline, according to Rapaport News calculations.

D.N. Diamonds, in fifth place, enjoyed the strongest growth of the ten leaders, with its exports surging 25 percent to $128 million.

The top ten exported $1.13 billion of diamonds combined, according to the data.

The controller publishes a list of the country's top net diamond exporters annually. This year it limited its list to the top 10, but in previous years the table has included a top 20.
