Rockwell Diamonds said Patrick Cooke has been appointed chief financial officer as the southern Africa-focused miner undergoes a strategic review and restructuring.

Cooke will be expected to help the company handle “historical legacy issues,” start up production at the Wouterspan mine and complete the sale of certain non-core assets, the company said.

Cooke has been a non-executive director of the Flower Foundation, an operator of facilities for the aged in Johannesburg, since 2013, according to his LinkedIn profile. From 2006 to 2009 he was CFO of Pangea Diamonds, which sold its operations to ICE Resources in 2010.
