Forevermark holiday sales volume +38%. De Beers 2017 sales +10% to 35.1M cts., production +22% to 33.5M cts., average price -13% to $162/ct. Rio Tinto 2017 production +21% to 21.6M cts. Shares in Firestone Diamonds (-7.5%) dropped after the Royal Bank of Canada downgraded the company. Michael Hill (+6.5%) saw its stock price increase, with investors appearing to take kindly to news that the retailer was leaving the US market. Chow Tai Fook (+5.1%) had a good week, while competitor Luk Fook (-5.2%) continued to decline after recent mediocre sales.
