Luk Fook Reports Strong 2Q Same-Store Sales

RAPAPORT... Luk Fook Holdings reported strong sales growth during its second fiscal quarter that ended on September 30, with the momentum continuing through the National Day Golden Week, which was the first week of October.

Same-store sales in Hong Kong and Macau grew 30 percent year on year, while same-store sales at its Mainland China stores rose 70 percent during the quarter, although the company did not provide hard totals. Same-store sales of gold products increased 56 percent while sales of gem-set jewelry grew by 10 percent.

Sales during the National Day Golden Week grew 17 percent year on year in Hong Kong and Macau and 67 percent at the group's mainland locations.

Luk Fook had 1,188 points of sale as of September 30, which included 1,053 licensed stores in Mainland China and 135 self-operated stores consisting of 42 self-operated stores in Hong Kong, 10 stores in Macau, 70 shops in Mainland China and four overseas.
