ALROSA Unveils 235-Carat Diamond From Jubilee Pipe

RAPAPORT... The Aikhal Mining and Concentration Mill, a business unit of ALROSA, recovered a 235.16-carat rough diamond in late September. ALROSA described the extraordinary diamond as gem quality and estimated its value range from $1.5 million to $2 million. large diamond

The stone was produced from the depths of the Yubileynaya (Jubilee) diamond pipe and its dimensions are 42 millimeters by 26 millimeters by 28 millimeters. The crystal is transparent, with a yellow hue and there are small graphite-sulfide inclusions along the periphery.

ALROSA explained that  recent technological advancements made at the production facility have improved recoveries and reduced breakage of exceptionally large stones. The mining giant added that the quality of this diamond was also an example of the high-quality workmanship of its mining staff and dressers.
