U.S., India Approve Trademarks for Diamond Brands, Jewelers

RAPAPORT... The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) approved the  ''Sparkling Champagne By Helzberg Diamonds'' trademark on March 11 with the registration number 4496288. The trademark was requested on June 3, 2013 by Columbia Insurance Company of Omaha, Nebraska, which handles patents and trademarks for its parent company, Berkshire Hathaway.

''Sparkling Champagne By Helzberg Diamonds'' refers to jewelry made in whole or with a substantial part using diamonds;  namely, rings, pendants and earrings made in whole or in substantial part of diamonds, and it was first used in commerce in September 2013.

Robbins Bros. Jewelry Inc. of California was granted the trademark ''E3 Diamond'' with the registration number 4496017 on March 11. ''E3 Diamond''  describes eco-friendly, conflict-free lab-created diamonds and was first used in commerce in August 2013.

The USPTO assigned the trademark ''Joanna Morgan Designs'' to Joanna Dembecka-Morgan of Seattle, Washington with the registration number 4493978 on March 11. The trademark was filed on May 10, 2013 and was registered for the purpose of marketing a variety of jewelry, including diamonds, with settings in bronze, brass and stainless steel. The trademark was first used in commerce in August 2009.

In India, the Office of The Trade Marks Registry published a number of renewed and approved  applications this month, all of which fell under the Class 14 Trademark classification.

LBH Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. received approval for the trademark ''LBH'' with the registration number 2276220. ''LBH'' refers to jewelry and precious stones and it was filed on February 2, 2012 after having been used since April 1, 2011.

Khimji & Sons received approval for the trademark ''Khimji & Sons Jewellers'' with the registration number 2378574. The trademark covers goods and services for  gold, silver, ornaments, diamonds and all types of gems. Khimji & Sons has been using the trademark since  June 28, 2012.

Harsh Diamonds was reapproved to hold the trademark bearing its name, ''Harsh Diamonds,'' under the registration number  1990575. The trademark refers to precious metals and their alloys, jewelry, precious stones and horological and chronometric instruments. The trademark  has been in use since January 16, 1997.

Kamal Jewellers was renewed for its  trademark ''Kamal Jewellers'' with the registration number 1690205. It has been in use since August 1, 1970 and the company is engage in manufacturing and supplying gold and diamond jewelry.

Saru Diamonds was again granted its trademark ''SARU'' with the registration number 1989974. ''SARU'' refers to diamonds and jewelry and has been in use since February 17, 1991.
