RAPAPORT... Taiwan will host its first international jewelry exhibition, the Taiwan Jeweler & Gem Fair, at the Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 3, from November 15 to 18. Besides showcasing internationally renowned jewelry companies, the event will also have a "Taiwanese Designers Area" that features jewelry supplied by several local associations and designers - including the Taiwan Creative Jewellery Designer Association, led by Taiwanese jewelry designer Wang Yueh-Yaw, the Taiwan Jewelry Designer Association, Julia Peng, Wen-Ling Kang, Zhang Wen-han (whose brooch is pictured) and Qi-Ping Lu.
Taiwan's jewelry boutiques are famous for combining natural coral and jadeite stones. Taiwan is the world's largest coral provider, but it has recently experienced a shortage in the material, especially of rare Aka coral, and that has driven the price up.
The show will also organize a series of seminars, networking events and trips. For more information about the Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair 2013, see: http://www.taiwanjewelleryfair.com
