AGS Launches Upgraded Visual Diamond Report

RAPAPORT... The American Gem Society (AGS) introduced a tool that
enables diamond suppliers and retailers to show a stone’s specifications in an interactive
electronic format.
The ‘Only My Diamond’ platform, an upgrade to the AGS
Diamond Quality report, allows an enhanced set of visuals and descriptive
explanations to be presented to customers in a “unique” way.
The new report includes a downloadable PDF that describes the
quality specifications and a video of the stone. It also presents images and
graphs, including an Angular Spectrum Evaluation Tool image showing a pattern
of light reflecting from a diamond.
There is a “need for a service like this in the diamond
industry, especially one backed by the AGS Laboratories brand,” said Jason
Quick, laboratory director at AGS Laboratories. The tool is an “extension of
the AGS Laboratories mission of consumer protection” given that it “informs the
consumer in a way that is interactive and engaging,” he said.
