JBT Appoints New Chairman

RAPAPORT... The Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) has appointed Michael
Kaplan as chairman, replacing Todd Wolleman, the group said last week.
Kaplan (pictured) has been involved in the JBT for 20 years,
and was previously first vice chairman of the board.
“We are very excited to have Mike as our chairman and look
forward to his oversight and guidance,” said JBT president Richard Weisenfeld.
“Mike brings to the table tremendous experience working with JBT and many other
industry organizations.”
Kaplan is president of Rocket Jewelry Box, a New York-based
jewelry packaging and display company. He has served on the board of Manufacturing
Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA), as well as the New York 24K Club, the Plumb Club and the Women’s Jewelry Association.
