RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) will honor high-profile diamond marketing consultant Sally Morrison with a lifetime-achievement prize at its GEM Awards ceremony next year.

The accolade goes to individuals who have “accumulated a career’s worth of contributions to the fine jewelry and watch industry,” JA said Friday. Morrison’s accomplishments include work at De Beers, Forevermark and the World Gold Council, as well as at Gemfields, where she is currently director of sales and marketing for the Americas.

Morrison (pictured) has led several famous marketing campaigns for the jewelry industry, including “A Diamond Is Forever” and “Love Gold.” She also headed the creative development of the Diamond Producers Association’s “Real Is Rare” campaign to promote diamonds to millennials, before leaving the trade body last May.

“Sally’s work in developing iconic marketing campaigns furthers the GEM Awards’ mission of raising the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches, making her the perfect recipient of the award,” said GEM Awards chair Norman Miller.

The ceremony will take place on January 19 in New York.
