Dvash Gets Second Term as Israel Bourse President

RAPAPORT... Yoram Dvash has won a second term as president of the Israel
Diamond Exchange (IDE) after running uncontested, the bourse announced.
The IDE’s general assembly approved Dvash (pictured) for a three-year
term on Tuesday. No bourse-wide election took place as he was the only
candidate, an IDE spokesperson said. While Dvash’s first term lasted
two years, the exchange recently changed the rules to make presidential terms
three years, the spokesperson continued.
There were also changes to the IDE’s 16-person board of
directors following elections on Wednesday, as well as to the audit committee
and the bodies that represent tenants of the bourse.
In a post on his Facebook page Wednesday, Dvash said leaders
of the IDE would meet in the coming days to put their plans for the bourse into
action.
“I promise to continue to provide a sympathetic ear and keep
my door open to everyone, and to work as hard as possible to advance the trade in
all possible arenas,” he said.
Dvash, the owner of Y. Dvash Diamonds, won his first term in
December 2015 when he defeated Arnon Yuval in a vote, succeeding longtime
president Shmuel Schnitzer.
