RAPAPORT... Gemological Science International (GSI) has opened a laboratory in Gaborone to capitalize on Botswana’s growth as a trading center.
“After decades of just mining rough diamonds, Botswana's capital, Gaborone, now cuts, polishes and sells diamonds, which creates demand for gemological laboratories and education,” said Mark Gershburg, the CEO of GSI.
In November, GSI opened a lab in Surat, India and with the addition of Gaborone, the company operates nine facilities. GSI stated that it plans to establish educational programs, courses and seminars in Gaborone to complement its gemological services.
