RAPAPORT... Robyn Hawk, who authored a number of blogs on the jewelry
industry, passed away on July 16 at the age of 63 following a stroke.
Dubbing herself a “serial blogger,” Hawk, who graduated from
the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 2009 with a degree in gemology,
diamonds, colored stones and pearls, wrote for the Tucson Gem Show and posted
articles on the jewelry industry in her blogs, A Fly on the Wall and The Daily Jewel.
“Robyn was truly wowed by all the creative people she met,
those in mining, gemstone cutters, jewelers, collectors and more,” her mother
and sister wrote on her Facebook page. “She was always excited to learn more
and then to share and promote this world on her many blogs.”
Hawk’s Facebook followers weighed in as well. “I can hardly
believe this, truly, our world has a huge hole,” said one, while another wrote,
“I am indebted to Robyn for the many contributions she made to…our website….
More than that, she was a friend and confidant, and one of the beautiful humans
in my life.”
She is survived by her younger sister, Dawn, her mother,
Maureen, and her partner, Bobby. Image: Robyn Hawk. (Robyn Hawk/Facebook)
